- Meeting Room and Classroom
A teaching classroom ( max. 20 ) and reception area is available to hire for training or other meetings. An additional meeting room will also be available (max. 20). Min. hire period is 4 hours and prices are £75 per room plus refreshments if required. Special discount rate applies if other facilities are hired.
- Teaching Pond, Showers and Changing Rooms
A safe teaching pond adjacent to the City Activity Centre can be hired by individual competent paddlers or coached groups with their own equipment. Cost is £5 / hour p.p. ( no instruction supplied ) min. hire 2 hours.
Exclusive rates for group hire are available giving access to teaching pond, changing facilities and showers. Max group size is 10 for existing groups, clubs and organisations. Site access safety training provided. Kayak / canoe instruction can be provided by approved instructors and equipment for hire may be available on request. Cost for half day ( 10 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm ) is £75 ( equivalent of £2.50 p.p / hour ).
- Equipment Storage Containers
A number of equipment storage containers will be available for groups to hire on an annual basis from Oct. 2016. Containers will have electricity and are boarded out inside. Hire rate ranges from £1,200 to £1,500 p.a. and containers are subject to availability.
- Safety Boat
A safety boat is available for hire on week days and weekends subject to availability. Min. hire period is half a day ( 4 hours ) and the price includes provision of a qualified boat operator, fuel, insurance. Safety equipment including life jackets provided. Prices are available on request.
The Trust works in partnership with several qualified outdoor activity providers who can offer the following:
- Canoes and Kayaks
Canoes and kayaks on a recreational pay as you go basis may be available for hire on the teaching pond adjacent to the City Activity Centre from July 2016. Safety equipment including life vests, helmets and paddles provided. Min hire is 2 hours ( £15 p.p ) and other prices / discounts are available on request.
- Paddle Sport Progression Courses
Instruction may be provided for groups of all ages and novices. Introduction to basics of kayaking in a fun and safe environment. All safety equipment and qualified instructors supplied. Group size is between 6 to 8 with a 3 hour session. Cost £25 p.p.
- Guided River Trips
Trips on the river Tay with a qualified guide using sea kayaks. Max. group size 6. Prices available on request.
- Schools Environmental Study Days
The programme is very flexible and is geared to the needs of the school and aims to support the school curriculum. Activities include pond dipping, bulb planting, rod casting and talks on the life cycle of the salmon. Other activities may include bee keeping, wildflowers and orchards.
- Affiliation Scheme
Groups can take out an annual affiliation to the Trust which provides additional benefits such as preferential hire rates and other benefits.
